Resting Devil Brewery will not collect or share any customer data with any third party. Your privacy is very important to us. Everything from your telephone number to your email address and mailing address will kept securely on file and for our own internal administrative reference only. The only people who will have access to this are the site business owner and site administrators.

When you visit the any website and engage with content it is inevitable that you share unique information about your location, operating system or internet behaviour with both the website and the Internet Browser (like Google Chrome). Unless otherwise stated, Resting Devil Brewery will only retain this personal information for as long as it takes you to process a purchase in our online shop, post reviews, add comments and reviews or make an email enquiry. The few exceptions to this are when you may be invited to create a customer account, create a user profile or request to be part of a mailing list (like a newsletter).

Comments/Reviews

If we invite you to leave comments or reviews on our website we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Shop Purchases

Resting Devil Brewery uses the Woocommerce shopping cart to process purchases and store items and the Stripe Payment Gateway (an e-commerce platform) to complete card transactions.

Stripe Payments use technology that encrypts card details using the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS). Your purchase transaction data is stored only as long as is necessary to complete your purchase

There are various ways in which you may provide us payment information and associated contact information. For example, if you buy something from, we’ll collect information to process those payments and contact you. If you buy something from us you’ll provide additional personal and payment information like your name, credit card information, and contact information. Unless you request otherwise this information will only be stored as long as it takes to complete the transaction and fulfil the order (including delivery and collections).

In order to fulfil the order and arrange delivery, a copy of the order will be copied to our records for as long as it takes to fulfil the order. These details will be your name, your email address, the billing and shipping address, your IP address (the numerical identifier associated with the location of your computer/internet service provider) and the time and date of purchase.

Resting Devil Brewery WILL NOT retain any of your credit card details. These details are used in a temporary fashion on an external encrypted server provided by our Payment Gateway Service Provider (Stripe). Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
